Blood pressure check
Blood pressure check by appointment — no queue, someone always free.
Taking your blood pressure is easy; taking it properly is less so. Most poor readings come from having sat down ten seconds ago, from having climbed stairs, or from letting the arm hang. Here we take it the way it should be taken: seated, after five minutes' rest, with your arm at heart height and a cuff that fits you. Ten minutes, by appointment, no queue, and someone whose attention is on you rather than split between two customers. We write the reading down for you to take away. If your doctor has asked for readings over several days, come on the days that suit you and we will record them all on the same sheet. This is not a diagnosis and not a change of treatment. We will never tell you to raise, lower or stop any medication — that is your doctor's call. What we will do is tell you when a reading is worth a consultation.
